Wooden house in the hills of Lessinia: a sustainable project in Veneto<\/h1>\n

In the hills of eastern Lessinia, in the province of Vicenza (Veneto), we built a wooden house perfectly integrated into the hilly landscape<\/strong>, designed as a passive building on three levels.<\/p>\n

A contemporary home that dialogues with the land, combining energy efficiency, natural materials and traditional local architecture.<\/p>\n

Architectural design: integration into the landscape and Venetian tradition<\/h2>\n

The building has three floors:<\/p>\n

    \n
  • Ground floor<\/strong>: bright and open living area<\/li>\n
  • First floor<\/strong>: sleeping area with rooms and services<\/li>\n
  • Basement<\/strong>: technical rooms and accessory spaces<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    The project, approved according to the regulations of rural hillside areas, was created with the goal of building a wooden house in harmony with the natural environment<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

    The architecture recalls typical features of the Vicenza tradition:<\/p>\n

    • gabled roof with regular overhangs<\/li>\n
    • local-style windows<\/li>\n
    • simple and proportionate volumes<\/li>\n
    • traditional plaster finishes<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      The result is an essential, elegant dwelling consistent with its pre-alpine context.<\/p>\n

      Space distribution: comfort and functionality<\/h2>\n

      Living area<\/h3>\n

      The ground floor is designed for contemporary living:<\/p>\n

      • large and convivial kitchen<\/li>\n
      • open space with living area and TV<\/li>\n
      • guest bathroom to standard<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        A large lift-and-slide window enhances the view, creating continuity between inside and outside.<\/p>\n

        On the upper floor are three bedrooms, each equipped with:<\/p>\n

            NZEB building: nearly zero energy house<\/h2>\n

            The house is designed as an NZEB (<\/strong>Nearly Zero Energy Building).<\/p>\n

            Energy performance is guaranteed by:<\/p>\n

              \n
            • high performance thermal insulation<\/strong><\/li>\n
            • 6.5 kWp photovoltaic system<\/strong><\/li>\n
            • energy storage system<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

              The entire building is powered exclusively by electricity via heat pump<\/strong>, eliminating the use of gas.<\/p>\n

              \n

              Sustainable wooden house: materials and environmental impact<\/h2>\n

              The structure is made of X-Lam (Cross Laminated Timber)<\/strong>, a high-performance wood construction system.<\/p>\n

              Main features:<\/p>\n

              • high seismic resistance<\/li>\n
              • reduced construction time<\/li>\n
              • low environmental impact<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                The wood used is PEFC<\/strong> certified, sourced from sustainably managed forests, contributing to the reduction of CO\u2082 emissions throughout the building’s life cycle.<\/p>\n

                Thermal insulation and living comfort<\/h2>\n

                The building envelope provides high performance through:<\/p>\n

                • 20 cm rock wool outer coat<\/li>\n
                • highly insulated structure<\/li>\n
                • excellent summer and winter behavior<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                  This provides constant living comfort and a drastic reduction in consumption.<\/p>\n

                  Controlled mechanical ventilation (CMV)<\/h2>\n

                  Each room is equipped with controlled mechanical ventilation with heat recovery<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

                  • eliminates excess moisture<\/li>\n
                  • recovers up to 90% of the heat<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                    In summer, it also contributes to dehumidification, improving indoor comfort.<\/p>\n

                          Following Passivhaus principles, they were selected:<\/p>\n

                            This choice reduces gray energy, improves traceability, and ensures more efficient after-sales service.<\/p>\n
